My mission as a journalist is to document the unseen stories of the world. I want to give a voice to the voiceless, capture the fleeting moments of our everyday and create a positive change for the world. I want to show the unseen.

Through my writing I seek to inform and educate.

Through my photography I seek to transport and inspire. 

I am a storyteller and my passion is to document the world. There are stories all around us, we just need to look for them.

I was born and raised in Eugene, Ore. which has led me to grow a deeply personal relationship with the city. I have spent the past five years fostering my communication skills and writing abilities to better understand my community.

My passion for informing others and giving a voice to those who may not have one comes from the struggles my father endured during his younger years. A Latino immigrant from Mexico, my father faced many challenges. He faced adversity and discrimination, he still does, but he was able to overcome many of the shortcomings that immigrants face.

Through his struggle, my father instilled in me the qualities of honesty and hard work. Although I may stumble at times, my purpose for pursuing unheard and unglamorous stories comes from his struggle.

This has inspired me to reach higher and being a journalist in our world today is a noble and daunting challenge. It is a challenge that must be faced by countless individuals yet is vitally important for a society such as ours.
